Founded in 1764 by the painter Giambettino Cignaroli, the Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona is one of the five Italy’s and world’s oldest Academies.
It belongs to the Higher Education in Art and Music (AFAM) system, a section of Italian the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) and offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in visual arts, restoration, design and applied arts that are accredited by the MIUR, ensuring equivalent recognition in comparison with other courses in Italy and elsewhere in Europe.
Strongly research-oriented, it pays particular attention to the development of all the disciplines of its education courses through an intense program of initiatives aimed at integrating training, experimentation and production of contemporary creative languages involving other institutions, organizations and companies at regional, national and international level.
Students are trained to be independent, defining their territories, building up their activities and inventing new forms and entirely original skills in the field of visual and applied arts, design and restoration.
