The project originates from the intention to bring together the two primordial acts of architecture: enclosing and covering, merging them into one. From this reflection emerges a symbolic architecture: a dodecahedron composed of a steel load-bearing structure that supports twelve pentagonal faces. In this system, boundary and roof become parts of a single geometric figure that defines and protects space.

The choice of the dodecahedron is not accidental. It belongs to the family of Platonic solids, convex regular polyhedra whose faces are all identical. Following this geometric rule, five solids can be generated: the tetrahedron, hexahedron, octahedron, icosahedron, and dodecahedron. In the dialogue Timaeus, Plato associates these forms with the elements of the universe: the tetrahedron with fire, the octahedron with air, the icosahedron with water, and the hexahedron with earth, while the dodecahedron represents the cosmic totality—the Universe itself. In many ancient cultures these forms acquired spiritual and cosmological meanings, as in the case of the Roman dodecahedron, a bronze or stone object believed to have ritual or symbolic significance.

The proposed architecture features twelve perforated steel pentagonal faces into which pentagonal prisms of white onyx, in three different heights, are inserted. The variations in height create a textured surface that characterizes the structure. At the center of each face, a circular opening, inspired by the geometry of Roman dodecahedra, allows light and air to enter the interior. The floor is made of cedar wood, known for its distinctive balsamic scent.

The architecture thus takes shape as a contemplative space: an intimate place that isolates the visitor from the outside world. At the center of the space there is a cushion, inviting one to pause and meditate. The geometry of the dodecahedron becomes a tool for constructing an ideal place, through an architecture that transforms stone into a measure of the universe and into a space of inner quiet.
